Volcano National Park is the starting point for an unforgettable two-day adventure into Rwanda’s rich wildlife and cultural heritage. On Day 1, you’ll transfer early from Kigali to begin an epic gorilla tracking experience in the park’s misty forests, followed by a cultural immersion at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village. Day 2 offers golden monkey tracking, a unique opportunity to observe these playful primates in their natural bamboo habitat. With expert guides, scenic treks, and close wildlife encounters, this tour highlights the beauty of country of thousand hills and the importance of conservation, community, and responsible tourism in Rwanda.
Gorilla tracking begins early at 5:00am when your driver guide picks you up from your Kigali hotel and drives for about two and a half hours to reach the Volcanoes National Park reception. The adventure start with the park guide briefs you on the park’s rules and regulations for gorilla trekking, a journey that can take between 2 and 7 hours. Visit Rwanda and discover that only 8 visitors are allowed per gorilla family, with the option to purchase exclusive access for a more intimate wildlife encounter. Volcano National Park offers visitors one precious hour of interaction with gorillas, where you can take photos, exchange knowledge, and learn about their behavior. Gorilla tracking concludes with a return to Fatim Hotel for lunch after your memorable wildlife experience. In the afternoon you will spend 3 hours at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village located near to Volcanoes National Park and Musanze town. Visit Rwanda to immerse yourself in culture by joining traditional dances, tasting local cuisine, learning about traditional medicines, and exploring the king’s palace. The day end with a return to your hotel in the evening, where you will spend the night after a day full of wildlife and cultural experiences.
Golden Monkey Tracking begin after having your breakfast at 7:00 in the morning, you will proceed to the park reception to track the golden monkey. Upon arrival, the park guide will provide you with information about the park and the guidelines for tracking golden monkeys. Then, you will begin your journey and encounter various species of monkeys and birds. The duration of the tracking can range from 2 to 4 hours. The Ellen DeGeneres will visited in the afternoon, and them you will return to Kigali.
Throughout the year you can visit Rwanda, From March to May and September, the rain is heavy and persistent. January, February and June up to December, the dry season is the best time for hiking in the forest for enjoying the green landscape and the beautiful view of the countryside and more migrant birds ,even primates tracking easily because most of the trees are fruiting.
