9 Days primate adventure and wildlife safari in Uganda

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast in the morning sunshine, it's time to leave the lodge and head to Kibale National Park. This tropical rainforest is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and is often referred to as the primate capital of the world due to the presence of 13 different primate species in a relatively small area. While Chimpanzees are the most well-known residents of the park, there are many other fascinating animals to observe as well. The journey to the park promises stunning views of the surrounding scenery. Once you arrive, you can check in to your lodge for an overnight stay and some much-needed relaxation.

In the early morning, after a hearty breakfast, you'll head to the park office for a briefing on the rules and regulations for chimpanzee trekking. From there, you'll embark on a trek through the impenetrable forest to observe these fascinating creatures. Keep in mind that tourists are allowed only one hour per day to interact with the chimpanzees. During this time, you can take photographs of them without using flash and observe them from a safe distance while learning about their behavior, social structure, communication, and tool usage. It's a truly unforgettable experience that will give you a deeper appreciation for these intelligent animals that are often referred to as our cousins. After lunch and some relaxation back at the lodge, you'll have the opportunity to take a two-hour community walk. This walk provides an excellent chance to interact with the local people, learn about their culture through storytelling and traditional dancing, exchange cultural information, and purchase handcrafted souvenirs to take home.

Following breakfast and check-out from your lodge, it's time to depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive can take up to four hours, during which you'll be able to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape and capture some great photos. Upon arrival at the park, you'll check into your lodge and enjoy a leisurely lunch while taking some time to relax. Later in the day, you'll embark on a game drive to explore the park and observe its incredible wildlife.

After a delightful breakfast with the beautiful morning sunshine, you'll embark on an early morning game drive through the park to observe its diverse wildlife. This is an excellent time to see the predators in action, such as lions the kings of the forest and leopards, as well as other animals foraging for food. The game drive typically lasts around four hours, depending on your interests, before returning to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. After enjoying a delicious meal, you'll embark on a short game drive en route to Kazinga Channel. This drive will provide an opportunity to observe different animals resting and playing in the wild, such as monkeys grooming each other after feeding. A boat ride along the channel is a rewarding experience, allowing you to see a variety of wildlife such as hippos, water birds like kingfishers and cormorants, and crocodiles. You can expect to see them both in the water and along the shores. In the evening, you'll return to the lodge for an overnight stay and some well-deserved rest.

On this day, you'll check out from your lodge early in the morning and embark on a game drive to track the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. These lions are known to climb trees for three main reasons: to get a better view, to rest, and to cool down when it's too hot. After spotting the lions, you'll continue your journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Along the way, you'll enjoy scenic views and stop for lunch. Bwindi is one of the oldest rainforests in Uganda and home to some of the world's last remaining mountain gorillas. Once you arrive, you'll check in to your lodge, spend the night, have dinner, relax, and prepare for the next day's adventure.

After breakfast, you'll drive to the park headquarters with a packed lunch for a full-day gorilla tracking adventure. Upon arrival, you'll receive a briefing about the park's rules and regulations for gorilla trekking, and then you'll be guided by rangers into the jungle to track the endangered mountain gorillas. Visitors are allowed a limited time of one hour to interact with the gorillas, take photos, and learn about them. This time spent with the gorillas will offer a unique and unforgettable experience. After the interaction, you'll return to your lodge for relaxing and an overnight stay.

After breakfast and checking out from the lodge, you'll head to Lake Mburo NP. You'll arrive at the park around lunchtime and check into your lodge. After lunch and some relaxation, you'll have the option to participate in a boat cruise or horseback riding to explore the park's beautiful landscape. In the evening, you'll return to your lodge for an overnight stay and dinner.

After enjoying breakfast, it's time to check out from your lodge and make your way to Kampala. In the morning, you'll be rewarded with a game drive where you can see buffaloes, zebras, impalas, oribis, warthogs, and waterbucks, as well as a variety of colorful bird species and scenic views. During the journey, there will be a stop at the Equator line where you can take photos and buy souvenirs. You'll also have lunch on the way. Finally, you'll be transferred to the airport for your departure.
