Mountain gorilla trekking in Rwanda promises a powerful once-in-a-lifetime adventure in Volcanoes National Park. Guided through lush forests, small groups encounter endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, creating unforgettable moments. This extraordinary experience offers rare wildlife encounters, breathtaking scenery, and deep connections with nature’s most majestic primates.
The driver guide will pick you up at your Kigali hotel at 4:00 am to take you on a two-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival at the park reception, you will receive a briefing on the park and rules and regulations for gorilla trekking. The trekking exercise can take between 1 and 7 hours and is limited to a group of 8 visitors per gorilla family to reduce disturbance. Exclusive payment is allowed. Visitors have a maximum of one hour to interact with the gorillas, take photos, and learn about them. This is a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience with mountain gorillas. Each group can only be visited once per day. After trekking, you can return for lunch and relaxation, followed by a drive back to Kigali.
